laLatin Specialties was born from a long standing family tradition of growing, selling and distributing produce. The roots of Latin Specialties began in the 1960′s when the founder started farming strawberries and other produce in Michoacán, Mexico. He later realized and seized the opportunity to be one of the first exporters of Mexican produce to Europe by air transportation and later by steamship.
Over the years the founder cultivated close relationships with some of the most successful and largest distributors of quality produce in many countries including Canada, England, France, the Netherlands and Japan.
The founder mentored his children in the international produce business. From the time they were young, they traveled all over the world with their father learning and cultivating their knowledge of distributing produce in international markets.
In the 1990’s, the family relocated to Houston in order to take advantage of the vast opportunity to serve the growing Hispanic market in the United States. Through these experiences, the founder’s children learned the importance of honesty, integrity and hard work. These attributes are still upheld today in their current business philosophy and practices.
Now over 30 years later, Latin Specialties is one of Texas’ most successful growers and distributors of specialty produce. With their headquarters and main warehouse facilities located in Houston, Texas, Latin Specialties strives to provide one stop shopping for all quality and specialty produce buyers.
